I love a caper as much as the next man, probably more, but there are times when you wish Brassic would lay off the caper-ish storylines and give its characters room to breathe.

There are a few serious scenes – tonight Erin (Michelle Keegan) goes to dinner with her boyfriend’s parents and ends up pining for her ex, Dylan – but mostly it’s comical misadventures, which this time involve pornographic antique furniture, a grappling hook and a treasure map.

The best line comes when crazed farmer Jim shows off his guest bedroom, festooned with Union Jacks and patriotic memorabilia, prompting the comment, “It’s like Air BNP…” Also, Dominic West is back as the sex-obsessed GP.
