Ukrainian legend has it that one Christmas, an old widow had no money to decorate a Christmas tree for her children. The spiders in the house heard her plight, and while she was sleeping spun a web all round the tree. When she woke, the morning sun caught the webs, making it glisten silver and gold.

Now in Ukraine, people decorate their trees with artificial webs. Great! If people complain that your house is mucky, you can say it's meant to look like that.
