3. Doctor Who, Last Christmas (2014)

Christmas is often a time to ponder and reflect, which is something Steven Moffat preyed upon in the Christmas Day special of Doctor Who in 2014. Never mind the dream crabs, it was time to be reminded of our own mortality. In a dream state, Clara (Jenna Coleman) is warned by The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) that she’s dying. She eventually comes to accept the reality of death (lovely) before a finale where 62 years have passed between them meeting and now Clara is an elderly woman. Blimey, thanks Steven Moffat. Pass us the sherry.
