The five pairs leave Dawson City and head south to the third checkpoint, 2,700km away in Alberta, but the stakes are raised as the team that reaches the checkpoint last is eliminated. Race leaders Trisha and Cathie enjoy a 25-hour lead over their nearest competitors but after hiring a car in the last leg they take a risk on car sharing their way to Alberta. Disaster strikes for Monique who injures herself at the checkpoint causing her and father Ladi a further three-hour delay. Zainib and Mobeen formulate a new strategy and Marc has to face his fears.
