Though things seemed mostly back to normal on the cobbles as of April, this week as thrown another spanner in the works, one that is set to alter the soap's release schedule for the whole month.

Luckily, fans won't have to wait long to see what happens next, plus the temporary ongoing scheduling change might provide a silver lining for some fans.

Why isn't Coronation Street on tonight?

Coronation Street will not be on tonight to make way for ITV's coverage of England's friendly with Austria. The match is a precursor to Euro 2020 fixtures, which kick off on Friday 11th June.

Following another friendly with Romania on Sunday, England v Croatia takes place on Sunday 13th June.

Coronation Street isn't the only soap to face changes due to the football. Both ITV and BBC will broadcast this year's Euro matches, meaning EastEnders and Emmerdale will also face scheduling changes throughout the tournament.

To make up for the changes, EastEnders, Corrie and Emmerdale are going on-demand for the duration of the Euros. This means episodes will be released on ITV Hub and BBC iPlayer at the beginning of the week, as well as airing on linear TV around Euro coverage.

When is Coronation Street next on TV?

The next Corrie episode is set to air on ITV tomorrow (Thursday 3rd June) at 9pm, right after The Masked Dancer.

Friday's episode will also air at 9pm on ITV.
