Ashley played the unlucky X-Wing fighter Gold Five in A New Hope, who is shot down during the climactic attack on the Death Star – but he also appeared in Patrick Troughton serial The Underwater Menace as an Atlantean Overseer.

OK, we’re stretching this one a bit. Musketeers actor Marc Warren was definitely in Doctor Who as Time Lord fanboy Elton (in 2006’s Love and Monsters) – but he was also a stand-in for Ewan MacGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi in 1999’s The Phantom Menace. You can see some of his underwater scenes on the film’s DVD extras (and above).
