Yesterday the TV-loving public mourned the loss of one of the nation's best-loved comedians. Rik Mayall, star of Bottom, The Young Ones and much, much more, passed away aged 56.
Over the past 24 hours the world of comedy has paid tribute, with tweets and messages from the likes of Greg Davies, Ben Elton and Mayall's long-term collaborator Adrian Edmondson, who wrote in fittingly irreverant style: "There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing... Now he’s died for real. Without me. Selfish b*****d."
