She's charmed comedy-lovers on the small screen - and even dipped her toe into the glamour of Hollywood with Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie - but it seems Agnes Brown might be about to venture into the world of chat shows too.

The crude and rude Irish matriarch, played by comedian Brendan O'Carroll, is being lined up to host her very own show, reports The Mirror.

Mrs Brown's new series would reportedly be inspired by The Mrs Merton Show, Caroline Aherne's popular nineties chat show which saw Aherne interview celebrities while playing Mrs Merton.

"Agnes Brown is irreverent, outspoken and incredibly nosey – perfect qualities for a chat-show host," a source told The Mirror. "It’s a fantastic idea and seems like a near-certain hit on paper."
