Coronation Street: Catherine Tyldesley wants an Eva and Maria cat fight - "There'd be weaves going everywhere!"
The actress predicts a win for Eva should the pair come to blows - "She’s about ten foot taller than Maria"

Poor Eva Price - she's got all these big dreams about a perfect life with boyfriend Aidan Connor. And yet he's about to cheat on her with Maria in an upcoming episode of Coronation Street! So will Eva find out about Aidan's infidelity? Is the truth going to be revealed before the pair move in together? And what revenge would Eva get on Maria if she discovered all about what's gone on behind her back? Here's Catherine Tyldesley with her take on all the upcoming drama:
So, are you fed up with Eva being the wronged woman?
No, it’s great to play, I love that. I feel really sorry for her because it seems that every boyfriend she’s ever had has cheated on her - it’s all ended in the same way.
She's certainly not willing to accept that Aidan won't move in with her...
No, once she’s got an idea in her head, she’s pretty feisty. As we’ve seen in past relationships, ie. with Jason, once she’s in love with somebody, she goes the whole hog, head over heels, and she won’t take no for an answer. She thinks that Aidan is the one now. She’s got a bee in her bonnet.

What do you think she's doing wrong?
I think she’s too full-on. She does have the bunny boiler gene, definitely, so I think that’s gone against her in the past. But she’s got a heart of gold and all she wants is to be loved. A while back, we found out a little bit more about her father who walked out when she was three years old. So that to me suggests abandonment issues. She’s desperately craving that male figure - and that’s probably a little bit to do with why she is the way she is. But again, she has picked players in the past and gone for a certain type of guy. I think she could just do with going on First Dates or something.
Who will she blame most - Aidan or Maria?
Maria. Because, in the past, she has spoken about girls that have done the dirty and the girl code and how passionate she feels about that. You don’t do it. So I think the poop might hit the fan when she discovers what has happened.
Would she ever forgive Aidan?
I think she probably would, yeah. That’s my instinct, I could be wrong, but she is head over heels for him. It’s a slow burner. But I imagine she probably would.
Should she forgive him, though?
It’s a difficult one because, yes, she has been cheated on before. But we can already see that Aidan is massively regretting what he’s done and, if anything, it’s kind of woke him up to the fact that he really does like Eva. Obviously Eva doesn’t know that. If it was my friend and I was stood on the outside, I’d just say “Go! Run!”

Will Eva be the type to get revenge by cutting up Aidan's suits?
I’d do that! Again, just going off previous scripts and episodes, I think she’s more inclined to go for Maria. She’s got a real bee in her bonnet about girls that do that.
Would you like to have a Corrie cat fight?
I’d love to see that - there’d be weaves going everywhere. Yeah, I’d love to see Eva in a catfight, it’d be brilliant.
Who'd win?
Eva, clearly. She’s about ten foot taller than Maria anyway!
What did the new producer Kate Oates say to you about Eva when she took over?
I was really chuffed with what Kate said because she liked the character and, in her eyes, Eva is old school Corrie. She feels she's got that balance, which is lovely for me to hear as an actress. And, as far as I’m aware, I’m going to be very busy, and that keeps me happy, I think there’s going to be a lot of things happening for her, definitely.
